Penn State has developed and continues to develop multiple tools, applications and systems for internal and external use.  Similarly, a vast amount of institutional data has been and continues to be collected.  All of these are used to assist faculty, staff and students in providing beneficial services across the university.  These services range from supporting internal operational needs to assisting in analytical and reporting purposes.

The abundance of Penn State systems and data has grown over time.  The Penn State Information Systems Directory is a Web tool that keeps track of these by listing all existing and past systems and data repositories.

The Systems Directory offers valuable information about each system and data source.  Contact information, access and security requirements, training opportunities and direct links, where applicable, to each system are just some of the informational items available that help assist Penn State Faculty and Staff know what's new, what's available and where to go for help.

The Systems Directory application was developed in conjunction with the Data Access Committee.  The Data Access committee was a sub-committee of the AIS Advisory committee, which was tasked with identifying applications that would benefit the Penn State Community.  AIS is responsible for the technical development and support of the application, while the Data Access committee is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the content.
