Sample Spreadsheets for Final Pay Calculations on Termination Form
Final pay calculations in the Workflow Termination Form are mostly straight-forward. The form automatically fills in current information that is drawn from the database. The user inserts specific information related to the particular termination, and the system calculates the final pay.
In a few situations, however, it is sometimes helpful to map the appointment in order to calculate those elements that must be added by the user.
This page includes sample final pay calculations for:
Academic Appointments
The basic formula for final pay for an academic appointment is: (Weekly Rate times the Number of Weeks Completed on Contract) minus Pay Already Received, plus (Daily Rate times Odd Days).
The system will automatically insert the Weekly Rate and the Daily Rate. The user must insert the Number of Weeks Completed on Contract and Odd Days. The system will calculate the Final Pay. Please see the Termination User Guide for additional details.
The spreadsheets below illustrate some common final pay examples.
Note: The Academic 48 Weeks with Salary Increase spreadsheet below is an example for a salary increase coming from the general fund; for an example of when a salary increase originates from restricted funds, please see the Termination User Guide.

HR-88 Staff Appointments
HR-88 Staff Appointments that work a less-than-12-month schedule (for example, September through June, with July and August off) benefit from mapping in a manner similar to that for academic appointments.
The basic formula for final pay for an HR-88 a less-than-12-month appointment is: (Amount Earned through Final Pay Period minus Pay Already Received), plus (Hourly Rate times Odd Days).
The spreadsheets below illustrate some common final pay examples.
