Accessing Graduate Applicant Data

Note:  In order to gain access to the requested student information, it is mandatory that all users complete the online FERPA Training Tutorial.  If you have not completed the FERPA training, then go to http://www.registrar.psu.edu/staff/ferpa_tutorial/ferpa_tutorial_page.cfm.

Requests for access to the Graduate Applicant (gradappl) data must be made in the format shown below and submitted electronically by your Access and Security Representative (ASR) to:

Upon approval of authorization, the request will be forwarded to the Administrative Security Office, AIS-Sec@psu.edu, for assignment of Data Warehouse userid and password. You will then be notified of your access privileges, userid and password. If the requested individual already has access to another database on the data warehouse, then no new userid and password will be assigned; however, he or she will be notified when access privileges are given for the Graduate Applicant (gradappl) database.

Any changes in the job position or responsiblities of the designated user should be reported to Chris Brown.

These individuals have an excellent understanding of Graduate Applicant data and data analysis.

These individuals have read and understand University policies AD-11, AD-20, and AD-23 regarding the confidentiality of data.

These individuals have an understanding of the University's ISIS system and of data analysis.

By virtue of the fact that these individuals will be downloading Computerized Institutional Data to their own microcomputers or servers, they are now operating an Operational Computer Facility and agree to conform to the requirements of an Operational Computer Facility as outlined in University Policy AD-23 and University Guideline ADG-02.
