Reporting Social Security Number Changes
Below are instructions for both non-employees (students, alumni, Friends of Penn State, etc.) and employees on how to report social security number changes.
Non-Employees
If a person who is not an employee initiates a request to change their social security number on the CIDR file, authorized employees can submit that request via the CIDR application.
Employees
University Park Employees: Complete a new W4 form with the correct number or the newly issued number (if you are replacing a temporary number). Provide a legible copy of your Social Security Card and hand deliver both forms to the Payroll Office, 307 Rider building.
Non-University Park Employees: Complete a new W4 form with the correct number or the newly issued number (if you are replacing a temporary number). Provide a legible copy of your Social Security Card and forward both forms (along with a brief note explaining the error) to the Payroll Office, 307 Rider Building, University Park, PA 16802.
