Macintosh TCP File Transfer Using TN3270 This documentation covers MacIntosh TCP/IP File Transfer with the Administrative Information Services' mainframe computer at the Pennsylvania State University. The following text will allow the user to navigate through the documentation easily:
Getting Started In order to accomplish a file transfer using the following instructions, you will need the following:
> Important: In this document, we have used CAPITAL LETTERS to indicate commands you type in response to the prompts; and keynames are capitalized and enclosed by <and> signs, for example <ENTER>. When we give examples of file transfer commands, the following conventions are used:
> Caution: If you specify a data set name that already exists on the mainframe when you send a file, your PC file will overwrite the mainframe file. Likewise, if you specify a PC file name that already exists the mainframe file will overwrite your PC file when you download. If you have problems after following the steps in this document, contact the AIS Support Center 814-863-2276, for assistance. In addition to access to TSO, you need access to the MVS FTP command set within TSO to accomplish file transfer via the Data Backbone. Contact your Access and Security Representative (ASR) to get access to MVS FTP. If you do not know who this person is, contact the AIS Support Center, 814-863-2276, to find out who has this responsibility in your area. You also need a SecurID token to access the Administrative Information Services mainframe via the Data Backbone. Request access to the Administrative Information Services mainframe through the Data Backbone. You will be sent a list of specifications and a letter of certification which must be signed by your LAN administrator and Access and Security Representative (ASR). Send an IDCC to Molly Kline (MZK2@PSU.EDU), 3 Shields Building for $75 per card. Once the signed certification and a copy of the IDCC from Carolyn Brown are received by the security officer, SecurID tokens will be distributed. You must have used the Telpass utility in your McIntosh Network Configuration folder to modify FTP Pass, creating a New User. A file named Config.tel is placed in the System Folder. If you need assistance, contact your local System Administrator. Transferring a File Using TN3270 for the MacIntosh: Starting Your TSO Session
