From The Director

I am looking out my window and it's a drab and dreary day outside - looks like Fall, smells like Fall, feels like Fall.  I actually really like Fall and the anticipation of the changes that will now rapidly take place to our natural environment.

This Fall we will experience a continuation of changes to our other 'Natural' environment - pardon the pun please, as we move forward with enhancements to our Enterprise Infrastructure that will allow us to build upon our solid base of integrated systems such as ISIS, and stand ready to develop and deploy new systems and services to support our administrative IT community.

Please read on to better understand what activities our Enterprise Infrastructure Unit and Student Systems Office are involved in today.

Feature Story

Once again we are featuring  two work units of AIS.  In this edition we feature Student Systems Office and Enterprise Infrastructure.

The months leading up to the start of the Fall semester is always a busy time for the Student Systems Office.  We are continually making enhancements to our systems to provide more functionality as well as enhance the reliability and scalability.  Read on for further details about some projects that we have recently worked on along with some projects that we will be continuing to work on for future semesters.

The Enterprise Infrastructure group's primary charge has been to maintain the integrity of our "MVS" mainframe systems, the associated hardware components and our ADABase environment which contains the University's student and financial data.  Read on to learn how these systems have evolved over the years to meet changing demands based on wide variety of technology changes.
