PAWS--THE Place to Go to Get Work Done
Posted: Thursday, May 07, 2009
If you work at Penn State and haven’t starting using, or even heard of, PAWS (Penn State Administrative Web Suite), then you soon will. That’s because PAWS (paws.psu.edu) is the place to go to get work done.
PAWS serves as a single launch point for a diverse collection of administrative-type functions and applications. Rather than remembering a variety of Web site addresses, a user needs to only remember one, paws.psu.edu. It’s that simple.
All Penn State staff and faculty will benefit from using PAWS, with a single sign-on to services such as ESSIC and the Attendance System. In addition, many of the services that administrative users and faculty depend on can be found in PAWS, including eDDS (eDocument Distribution System), ANGEL (Penn State’s Course Management System), and eISIS (Electronic Integrated Student Information System).
Workflow, which is Penn State’s Web-based hosting system for University academic, administrative, and financial management processes, especially those involving review and approval needs, is accessible through PAWS.
Over time, the majority of Penn State’s administrative functions will reside in PAWS.
Existing users of PAWS will notice recent improvements, including bug fixes and improved functionality, such as easier addition and removal of favorites and improved discovery of some applications and functions.

NOTE: A user needs to be connected to a Penn State network or the VPN in order to have access to paws.psu.edu.
