From The Director
Most Penn State staff members who have been long-term users of our central administrative information systems are very familiar with the classical integrated data systems such as IBIS, ISIS, and the University Data Warehouse. However, over the last few years AIS has developed a series of applications that deliver information services to the user community, not just information. These services complement and extend the use of the institutional administrative information contained in the classic integrated systems and include such services as eDDS, our electronic document distribution system (and a major save-the-trees effort); the Generalized Interface or GI, our service that allows us to provide centrally maintained University administrative information quickly and securely to partner offices that require such information as part of their information services or applications; and additional services such as eCommerce and Document Imaging.
Read on to gain insight into the progress we have made with these information services.
