From The Director

It is a new year at Penn State.  Time to throw out the old - and bring in the new!  I'm not sure where this saying came from or from what source it is quoted; the spirit behind it, however, is fundamental to a number of key AIS initiatives in 2007.  We have been in operation for decades, administering, managing, and making available the records of the University.  Our mission remains constant, although technology has driven us to a variety of ways to complete it.  As we go into 2007, we will once again be faced with a new way to deliver our services - in an open and standards-driven environment.  Read on in this issue for an update on our System Development Modernization effort and Workflow project, as well as our emerging Open Standards Development environment.
