This training session describes Penn State's Data Warehouse and the Enterprise Information Systems (EIS); it does not include hands-on computer training. This session provides an overview and comparison of the EIS and the Data Warehouse. It is designed to help learners choose which solution is best for them for accessing the data. Participants will learn about the advantages and disadvantages of each option and will be shown sample queries using each as a source for data.

Objectives:

  • Locate the Web documentation on each tool
  • Perform the steps for accessing both the Data Warehouse and EIS
  • Define the Data Warehouse and EIS

Note: All campuses are welcome to join all sections of this program via Polycom. Interested campuses should contact ITS Training Services at itstraining@psu.edu to reserve a port. Campus participants must register individually through ITS Training Services.
