    eCOMMERCE MIGRATION Project

AIS is in the final stages of enhancing its eCommerce software. Some of the migration has already been completed and has been transparent to the end user up to this point.  The final stages of the enhancements will  take place shortly. Most of the changes will continue to be transparent, but here are the highlights of what's to come:

Merchant Administration Tools (Issuing Credits, Report generation, etc):

Credit Receipt - Administrators will now be able to generate a Credit Receipt that can be printed or e-mailed to their customers

Authentication - Users will now authenticate with their University Access Account and password (They will no longer have to maintain a separate eCommerce password.)

An improved navigation bar and streamlined reports page are other enhancements that have been added to Merchant Admin.

Some of the, not so obvious, enhancements will include improved performance of the credit card authorization and settlement process.

    eCommerce API:

There is a new eCommerce API that Web applications will call to use the new enhanced eCommerce system. The new production eCommerce API will be made available to the eCommerce developer community shortly.

Small Talk developers - Kathy DeMartino will provide an updated base image.  Kathy will be contacting the Small Talk developers with instructions on new image. eCommerce operations (Aaron Hofelt) will coordinate the implementation of the updated image with the deployment of the new eCommerce API.

Cold Fusion/ASP/.NET developers - Aaron Hofelt will be contacting you when the new eCommerce API is available.  Aaron will coordinate the switch from the old API to the new API.  Our eCommerce developer's guides have been updated accordingly and will be posted on our Web site in the near future.  The main difference in the API is the domain name that will be called. The name-value pairs remain unchanged.

AIS Generalized Interface (GI) Service developers  - If your application is using our GI service.  No change will be required with your application.  The GI will handle it for you.

We will release another announcement when the new eCommerce application and API is made available to the PSU community.

    UPDATING ACCESS TO eCOMMERCE SERVICES

There is now an online form for updating access to eCommerce services.  Changes (addtions or deletions) to Merchant/Departmental administrators access to eCommerce Services (IP Address, ePay, Merchant Admin, Daily distribution of ROCR e-mails, and the eCommerce Users List serv) MUST be processed through this form.  We will no longer be able to process requests via e-mail.  We will process all change requests within two (2) business days.  A copy of the change request will be distributed to the applicable Financial Officer for that eCommerce account/department.  The online form is available on the eCommerce home page.  See Updating Access to eCommerce services.
