Technology Software Site License
Penn State has purchased a Global Enterprise site license for Optical Image Technology, Inc's (OIT) suite of products, including:
- Imaging (Native Client): – A Windows-based solution for the scanning, indexing, and retrieval of images. The Native Client’s own scanning function allows you to maintain many scanner settings, such as creating multi-page tiffs, changing image resolution, color options, and more. The program supports a full range of scanners, from SCSI scanners to high-speed duplex scanners. DocFinity will also fully integrate with your current scanning solution. Its flexible and robust search capabilities ensure that retrieval is effortless.
- IntraVIEWER: – Allows any user with proper rights and an Internet browser to utilize virtually all the features of the DocFinity suite from anywhere, inside your network, or outside of it via the World Wide Web. With DocFinity IntraVIEWER, even your customers, clients, partners, and suppliers can retrieve important information and documents for themselves from anywhere at any time, using only a Web browser. IntraVIEWER also notifies administrators as to who is accessing documents, which helps with compliance measures.
- PowerIndexing: – Users are no longer restricted to inserting information within a predetermined file structure, but will be able to index text wherever it is desired. When the user works on indexing a batch of documents, the system saves the indexing seamlessly behind the scenes, allowing the user to continue working uninterrupted.
- Object and Office Importers: – Allow users to easily bring many different types of files into the DocFinity electronic document management system. The Importers electronically file the objects appropriately within the cascade filing structure and apply proper user keys for efficient retrieval.
- Web Services API: – Enables users to tap into the functionality of the DocFinity Suite from within their own familiar software applications, regardless of the language or platform they employ. The flexibility of DocFinity’s Web services architecture makes it possible for users to call the DocFinity API from their own Web sites, portals, and server processes. Customers can link to, and pass back and forth data from the DocFinity API, using virtually any development language. This allows users to import, retrieve, and view documents from DocFinity, start DocFinity workflows, and get DocFinity reports, all from their own company Web site, portals, or applications.
- Full Text Server: – Captures the text of every document or a select group of documents stored in the system. Users can then search the entire text of all documents in the storage system, much like you would use an Internet search engine to find Web pages that contain particular words or phrases. With its OCR compatibility, this module can read text on images, allowing the system to return image files that meet the search criteria
- Barcode Server: – A barcode solution that operates not on the scan station, but on a separate server. Frees up your scanners to do more scanning and allows you to index objects faster even than OIT’s other barcode module, Barcode Recognition and Indexing.
- COLD ERM (Reports Management: – Captures print streams and immediately makes the documents available for retrieval. COLD-ERM is an excellent solution for managing green-bar reports and creating invoices and other documents. It works with virtually any print stream and document templates to increase customer service and employee efficiency while reducing printing costs.
- Email Manager: – Allows you to capture all of your system’s emails and automatically index and store them with the rest of your vital documents. With so much business dialogue taking place today via email, it’s important, and sometimes required by law, to keep track of your emails. Email Manager enables you to do just that.
- HSM: – Provides a means to automatically move documents from one storage medium to another. HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) is an excellent tool for managing records that the law requires you keep for a particular time period. It automatically purges the records from your system when they expire. It also allows you to automatically back up, on or off site, all of the documents within your system.
- Print/Fax Server: – Boosts efficiency in an environment where a large number of documents need to be printed or faxed. This module allows users to print and fax documents without opening them. Documents with proper index values are automatically sent to a separate server to be processed for printing or faxing, freeing up users and their computers to move on to other tasks.
- Workflow: – Moves your paper-based business processes into cyberspace by electronically routing documents through necessary processes and to various users. This component greatly increases efficiency by eliminating lost documents and prevents papers from piling up in a “to do” basket. Workflow operates with Electronic Signature Server to provide additional validation and security through every process.
Because the software is covered under a site license, there is no cost to individual departments for copies of OIT software. For further information on obtaining OIT Software contact the Document Management Consultant by clicking on the link below.
