Accessing ISIS Student Emergency Contact Information Student Emergency Contact Information is collected from students for the purpose of notifying students about an emergency situation that may affect health or safety.  Information is also collected from students to permit authorized University personnel to contact the student’s designee (often next of kin) about a personal emergency.  This information may not be used for any other purpose. Authorized University personnel include on-call Student Affairs staff, designated police and security officers, and other on-call staff at each campus as designated by the campus Director of Student Affairs.  Please refer to University Safety Policy SY-03 for more information at http://guru.psu.edu/policies/SY03.html.  Requests for access to the Student Emergency Contact Information within the Student Database must be made in the format shown below and submitted electronically by your Access and Security Representative (ASR) to: Mr. Ed McGowan ejm6@psu.edu Penn State Student Affairs Information Technology 222 Boucke Building, University Park Upon approval of authorization, the request will be forwarded to the Administrative Security Office, AIS-Sec@psu.edu, for assignment of Data Warehouse userID and password. You will then be notified of your access privileges, userID and password. If the requested individual already has access to another database on the data warehouse, no new user ID and password will be assigned. They will, however, be notified when access privileges are given for the appropriate table. Any changes in the job position or responsibilities of the designated user should be reported to ejm6@psu.edu (Ed McGowan). All information is required to process the request. Example: Please provide the following individuals access to the Student Emergency Contact Information within the Student database (bi_emergency_contact): John Doe (e-mail = jxx1@psu.edu) (AIS ID = jxx1) (Campus=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) These individuals have read and understand University policies AD-11, AD-20 and AD-23 regarding the confidentiality of data. These individuals are authorized by their campus to have access to Student Emergency Contact Information. By virtue of the fact that these individuals will be downloading Computerized Institutional Data to their own microcomputers or servers, they are now operating an Operational Computer Facility and agree to conform to the requirements of an Operational Computer Facility as outlined in University Policy AD-23 and University Guideline ADG-02.
