Connecting to the Data Warehouse
1. AIS Account -- contact your Access and Security Representative (ASR) to request the account.
2. Meet minimum requirements for Macintosh and Windows Workstations Macintosh:
- Power Mac - 132 Mhz processor or higher
- System 8.6 or higher, up to Classic mode in OS X.
- 64 Megs of RAM or higher
- ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) files must exist in your Mac Control Panel to access the Data Warehouse.
- Installation of the InterSolv® Data Direct Sequellink ODBC driver. Contact the AIS Support Center for information about acquiring this driver.
Windows:
- 166Mhz processor or greater
- Windows 95/98/NT or Windows2000
- 64 Megs of RAM or higher
3. Install and configure connection to ODBC Database
- There are numerous database query tools to choose from. The tool you select needs to have the ODBC component in order to access the SQL server. The department, campus or college technology contact is responsible for configuring workstations to the Data Warehouse. Support for connectivity problems can be obtained from the AIS Support Center at (814) 863-2276 or by email at AIS Support. To avoid computer connectivety problems, please use the DNS host name when configuring computers.

4. SQL Client Access License
- SQL Client Access licenses are available from the Computer Store. The licenses are required for both PCs and MACs but the Client Access software which is included in the license is used only on PCs. MACs only require a license for legal access. Check with you local support staff before making the purchase.
