IBISFIN User Friendly Field Names Available for Review

Data Warehouse Users --
The user friendly tables that contain the new table layout and user friendly field names for the ibisfin database are now available for your review. All the tables start with uf_ to indicate that they are 'user friendly'.

If you want to see the order the fields will display when you do a query, log onto our development server to see a listing of all the tables. The IP address for our development server is: 128.118.5.43. If you don't already, you'll need to create a new ODBC connection to point to this server. If you have any questions on this, please contact our support group at 863-2276.

If you just want to review the new names that have been created, go to the warehouse documentation at https://www.warehouse.ais.psu.edu/datadict/datadictcomp.asp and click on the ibisfin database, you'll see a listing of the new table names. If you click on an original table name, you will get a listing of all the fields in alpha order with the new user friendly name next to them. If you click on the user friendly table name, you'll get a listing of all the user friendly fields in alpha order, with the original field name next to them.

Remember these user friendly names are currently not available on the production warehouse, only on the development warehouse for your review.

Just a note -- the data in the table on the development warehouse server will be slightly out of date from what is on the production warehouse.

We also created 1 new table uf_ub_header_allfy. This table will contain all records from both the ib_header and the ib_header_hist tables

If you are a ibisfin database user please take a moment and look at the new field names and the table layouts. Send your comments, either pro or con, to Jan Barnoff (jab3@psu.edu) and Yvonne Riley  (ymr1@psu.edu).
