AIMS Access

All AIMS users need the following in order to access AIMS:

  • A Penn State Access Account from Academic Services and Emerging Technologies
  • An Integrated Business Information Systems (IBIS) Security Profile. AIMS access control requires that all users have AIMS function assigned in their IBIS security profile. For assistance, contact your Access & Security Representative
  • Pentium 200 or faster, or a PowerMac with 48 megabytes of RAM recommended

There are various Internet browsers and browser versions available for use with AIMS. AIMS uses both Java and Java Script coding languages - which each Internet browser may interpret differently - thus creating the need for a Java and non-Java version of AIMS. Due to technical limitations, the non-Java version of AIMS does not contain all of the reporting functionality that the Java version contains.

Macintosh Internet browsers currently interpret Java script differently than Windows. At this time, a Macintosh can only use the non-Java version of AIMS.
