UCS Tip – Setting E-mail and SMS Reminder Notifications

In this tip for using the University Collaboration Suite (UCS), we will show you how you can set up e-mail and SMS reminder notifications.

You can set up to have appointment and task reminders sent to you through e-mail and as a text message to your mobile device. The reminder is sent according to the Reminder time that is configured in the task or appointment.

For e-mail notifications:

  1. In UCS, click on the Preferences tab in the top menu bar.
  2. Select Notifications from the left-column menu.
  3. In the Notification by Email section, enter the e-mail address that should be sent the reminder.
  4. Click Save.

For SMS notifications:

  1. In UCS, click on the Preferences tab in the top menu bar.
  2. Select Notifications from the left-column menu.
  3. In the Notifications by SMS section:
    1. Select your country from the Region drop-down menu.
    2. Select your phone carrier from the Carrier drop-down menu.
    3. Enter your phone number in the Phone Number field.
    4. Click Send Verification Code. A text message is sent to your phone.
    5. Enter the code you received in the message in the Verification Code field.
    6. Click Validate Code. The Status field shows the confirmed number.
  4. Click Save.
