On Wednesday, July, 1, 2015, AIS will implement a new security setting on the Mainframe. This change requires all registered users of the Mainframe (ACOM, BCOM, CCOM, TSO, and Roscoe) to update settings within the program they use to connect to the Mainframe. Below are instructions regarding the changes that need to be made based on your computer platform between now and July 1. After July 1, if you have not followed these directions, you will not have access to the Mainframe:
There are three options on how to implement these setting changes within Hummingbird HostExplorer:
- The following ITS Knowledge Base article provides detailed steps on what changes you need to make within Hummingbird HostExplorer: http://kb.its.psu.edu/node/3424/
- Download the updated Hummingbird HostExplorer software from downloads.its.psu.edu (select the menu “Connecting to Penn State”)
- If your department uses Sysman, your local IT support will be able to automatically update your program settings.
It is recommended that users of Brown TN3270 download version 3.4.0 from downloads.its.psu.edu (select the menu “Connecting to Penn State”).
The results of our testing indicate no configuration changes are required in order for the Linux environment to be compatible with the current x3270 client setting. However, if you discover a configuration change is needed, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
